Short films make up a unique medium, one that lends itself neatly to subtler scenes and visual experimentation. They also, not-so-coincidentally, carve out a space for voices often quelled in the world of big-budget blockbusters It provides the movie-loving public with access to bold, daring and innovative cinema. (Huffington Post)

Our mission is to promote and stimulate creation and innovation in the film industry and provide support, opportunities for new voices that otherwise might not have been heard. FILM believes that independent films broaden the palette of cinema, seeding the global culture with new ideas, kindling awareness and fostering activism.

We All Want To Fly

We All Want To Fly is an experimental narrative that weaves diverse locations and characters together to tell a story of addiction, yearning, and video games. Moving seamlessly from animation to live-action, from psychedelic mushroom trips to surreal photo shoots, this short explores what it means to be human in a seemingly indifferent universe.

State of Emergency (FRANCE/GERMANY)

Omar is a soldier, securing an official building in Paris, he becomes paranoid because he can’t differ between the daily routine of a city and a danger of terrorism almost omnipresent.

Dreams

A lone artist, whose dream is to become a professional photographer, is faced with obstacles and distractions that force him to decide if he will continue to fight for his passion or if he will settle for what seems to be his destiny.

Superimpose

SUPERIMPOSE explores the hyper postmodern story behind The Range’s (Brooklyn-based electronic producer James Hinton) new album Potential, which exclusively uses the voices of people who posted videos of themselves signing on YouTube. The documentary sheds light on the unique and varied human stories of the people featured on the album who were completely unknown to The Range when he originally selected them from the deep reaches of low view count YouTube. To tell these stories the documentary travels to off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods of New York City, NY; Kingston, Jamaica and London, England – from Kai, the shy Brooklyn teenager who loves singing Ariana Grande covers; to Damian “Naturaliss” Gordon, the charismatic Jamaican correctional officer by day, dancehall singer by night; to Ophqi, the determined Brixton rapper and dutiful father with a difficult past who is still waiting for his moment to succeed as a musician; and more. While diverse as the backgrounds of the people The Range selects for his music, the common themes of creative passion, determination and the unique togetherness that only the modern internet can provide emerge. Directed by the gifted young filmmaker Daniel Kaufman whose resume includes short films and music videos for DJ Khaled, Waka Flocka Flame, OT Genasis, The Decemberists, and more.
