Q: When did you start pursuing music?

A: I’ve always been an artist, but at first I was too scared to sing for people, even though I wanted to. I always labeled myself as an “actor who sings”. Eventually, one of my friends sent me a track of music that I wrote over. I haven’t stopped since then.

Q: How do you find people that share your vision?

A: I’ve found that in this world, you just have to say what you need and you eventually find people. Many people I have found through friends and family, but you really just need to put yourself out there for it to work.

Q: Do you feel proud or particular and over analytical about your work?

A: It changes at different stages of the process. Sometimes I can come back feeling really good about a project, but other times it changes. It all depends on how you feel on any given day.

Q: How do you deal with writer’s block?

A: I try to avoid looking at the past. If you keep thinking about what you have already done, there is no way that you can move on to something new. I find lulls in my creativity as opportunities to heal, and get back to creating again after.

Q: How have your kids influenced your art?

A: They have inspired me tremendously. They help with my art, and my art also helps my parenting abilities in the moment. My kids can also be a distraction when I need to be alone and focus, but for the most part they help me look at art from a more simplistic point of view.

Q: What is one piece of advice that people should remember?

A: Separation itself is a myth. We’re all alike, all equal.
