“The young girl in question isn’t presented as some one-dimensional victim…nothing is black and white in this piece and it’s this vast gray area that makes the play so provocative….This play is thoughtful, well-written and it circles around in your brain long after you’ve left the theatre. Definitely worth seeing.” (Bloody Underrated)
“Troubling, especially frank and terribly human…a contemporary issue reflecting sexism and hierarchy that exist in most companies and where young women, particularly immigrant, too often lose…” (Le Delit)
The Standard is a popular international clothing company known for their risqué billboards of nearly-naked models. It is during Malina’s time there as a store manager that she faces harassment and assault. She is desperate to press charges, but her CEO boss, Ira, paints a picture of an opportunistic young girl he practically had to fight off. In a sexually-charged industry – what is ethical? What is the truth? And who is really getting hurt? You decide.
