David’s Friend is a comic odyssey about love, loss, cruising, disco, drag queens, strippers, sex, the 70’s, AIDS and New York City. Told with music, videos, costumes, characters, tall tales & torrid truths, David’s Friend is the story of a crazy friendship in a restless city during a reckless time. Written and performed by Nora Burns with direction by Adrienne Truscott, this fast-paced show is a multi-media celebration of friendship, fun, freaks, fag hags, youthful passion, change, memories, Manhattan & the power of a great dance song.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nora Burns is a founding member of the comedy groups Unitard & the Nellie Olesons. She performed her 1st solo show, Honey, I’m Home, in NYC & LA last year. She created, curates & hosts a series called New York Stories at the historic Stonewall Inn where celebrated New Yorkers tell stories about their lives in NYC. In addition to stage work, she has appeared in the films Florent: Queen of the Meat Market, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Broken Hearts Club and Boys Life 3among others. Her television appearances include Logo’s Wisecrack comedy show and The Sandra Bernhard Experience.
