Gabriel Hermida is an Argentinian guitarist who infuses his compositions with the essence of classical tango, flamenco and contemporary jazz. He’s coming to Subrosa, performing his new ensemble with the rhythms of tango and flamenco. Most of Gabriel’s compositions are instrumentals, drawing on influences from tango and jazz, along with contemporary music. When his songs do have lyrics, they often tell personal stories, giving them an added meaning for the artist and audience. Gabriel has also been performing with dancer Savion Glover for the past five years, including appearing at some of New York’s most prestigious venues.
