The Glenn Ligon exhibit in the Luhring Augustine Bushwick gallery was about Richard Pryor, a well-known comedian back in the 80’s. Before you go in the museum, just a warning, the location of the museum is in the middle of nowhere. However, there is a lot of graffiti art all around the other buildings which is amazing. I suggest you should look at what the community has to offer.

The museum is huge, dark, and has many screen of Richard Pryor in a red suit. The sound is muted and each screen is focused on a certain body part. The smallest screen has his whole body. Looking at his comedy skit, if you didn’t know who Richard Pryor was, the way his mouth moves so widely some people may think he was singing. Also, you may think he’s saying a speech because of the way his hands were moving. The screens really made me notice the little details of how his body moved. The crazy thing is he didn’t really smile which is odd for a comedian. Body language is interpreted in different ways, like how your friend can be upset, but you may just think they’re tired.
