May is the month for inspirational women, and this month’s PaaM, hosted by Film TRaC, is proof of that!
Here were the choices:
And the winner was…
Lady Bird
PG-13 | | 2001
Here’s what the teen audience had to say…
FINAL RATING: 7.5 out of 8 slices (teens LOVE Lady Bird, what can we say?)
Every PaaM night, we ask our teens to give us their honest reviews of the winning movie. We then select voices that capture the range of opinions and critiques. Read what Ledwiska, Jessica, Litzy, and Sharese had to say about the coming-of-age story.
Choose three words to describe the movie.
Ledwiska: Amusing, interesting, relatable
Jessica: Funny, real, emotional
Litzy: Unpredictable, entertaining, heartwarming
Sharese: Inspiring, uplifting, relatable
What was your favorite scene? Bonus: Why? **SPOILER ALERT!**
Ledwiska: My favorite scene was when Christine called her mother at the end and told her she loved her. It showed a happy ending.
Jessica: When Lady Bird flew out of the car because that would be a feeling when you’re annoyed with your parents.
Litzy: When she went to prom with her friend because she realized friends are more important to enjoying life, especially when reconciling.
Sharese: I like when she packed up her stuff and moved into her dorm. I’m going to college this year and I’m leaving, so I can relate.
Would you recommend this to a friend? Why or why not?
Ledwiska: Yes, I would recommend this movie to a friend because it is a great film. She’s exploring and learning who she is. It also shows how grateful we should be for our parents.
Jessica: I would recommend, most teens relate to having arguments with our parents, but at the end of the day they love us and want the best for us.
Litzy: Yes, it shoes multiple journeys that someone experiences, multiple people will be able to connect to this.
Sharese: I think this movie is perfect for high school students because it is very relatable and it shoes a young girl trying to find herself and her individuality.
