I was hungry for the arts, needed it to function and TRaC (the Teen Reviewers and Critics program) was there to the rescue, readily available, arms open! Attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School gave me a foundation to express my creativity. It was the door opening to it all so-to-speak, where I got introduced to the craft of acting, it’s professionalism. I organized my talents of acting, dance, and writing, and began to understand how I could relate them together instead of fighting its differences yet sharing of my very equal loves for them all.

It lead me to publish my first book, “Confessions of A Teenager” in high school. I began performing my own written monologues and choreographing my own shows which lend to “Borderline Bitter”, my first off Broadway show that I wrote, directed and produced. It opened in NYC summer of 2011 in August . The following year my talent portion won me the national pageant talent of “Ms. Black and Gold” at Syracuse University, the title of the first Verbal Blend Poetry Slam winner as well as the host of the Multicultural Annual Show and the African Society showcase.

TRaC allowed me to realize my own potential to create, and realize we all have the power to start the dreams that we envision before laying to bed. It’s alright to be great and want more. I think of our born talents and interests as gifts that we must spread to the universe, its an injustice not to share. So, I decided to share to the world! I am in the process of publishing my second book, expanding my vlog talk show “Tai Brown Speaks”, starting a non-profit organization, traveling to Florence in the fall to study the arts, and continuation and excellence of my acting career.
