The Bronx Museum features many unique works by many different artists. The museum offers a mix of old and new with the majority of the museum paying tribute to artists from 1970’s California in an exhibition entitled, State of Mind: New California Art Circa 1970.
One stand out piece by Suzanne Lacy, Lamb Construction, was originally made during a performance in 1973 and reconstructed in 2011 for display in the museum. It featured an actual lamb on display, organs and all! Many of the other pieces were reconstructions of larger pieces too big to move or performance pieces that had already occurred. Some were even interactive which is always welcome to capture the attention of the viewer.
