Arts Partner: Taikoza

c700x420This wonderful group of traditional Japanese music from Hiroshima will bring their message of peace with this spring celebration concert. The Hiroshima Hougaku Federation Ensemble includes award winning Koto Middle School and High School students from Hiroshima. This timeless Japanese music performed on the Shakuhachi and the Koto will dazzle your senses and transport you to Japan. This unique concert features two amazing masters of Japanese music: Tomoko Fukumori and Marco Lienhard (from NYC’s East Winds Ensemble). The concert will include traditional as well as modern compositions and will include songs to commemorate the victims of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
