The first half of our Miles & ‘Trane Festival is led by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, as the band debuts new arrangements and revisits favorites from Miles Davis’ legendary body of work. The diverse, label-defying Davis, who would have turned 90 this year, remains the pinnacle of transformative expression, musically and beyond. From Birth of the Cool to Miles in the Sky, the famously versatile Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will perform and offer fresh perspective on some of his groundbreaking concepts and timeless masterpieces. Drummer Ali Jackson and trumpeter Marcus Printup will co-music direct these performances.
