A Lily Among Thorns
The a cappella vocal quartet New York Polyphony performs 15th century English motets by Dunstable, Power, Plummer, Byttering, and Pyamour—plus a bouquet of works by the medieval Machaut, other masters of the early renaissance, and present-day composers Jackson Hill, John Scott and Geoffrey Williams. Many of the texts come from the Song of Songs.
