Imperial Augsburg, 1475 – 1550:
Isaac, Josquin, Senfl, Gombert, Crecquillon
Renaissance Augsburg became a center for music in Europe, especially under Emperor Maximilian I, whose Kapelle included Senfl and Isaac. Even as the city suffered through the Reformation, sublime music soared. The vocal ensemble Pomerium performs the greatest music any city could offer: by Isaac, Josquin, Senfl, Gombert and Crecquillon.
