“Boys Will Be Boys” is a piece created to raise awareness about street harassment and the dangers that women face simply walking down the street. In this piece we see many different places, an apartment, the streets of NYC, and a club. Combining swing dance, and harassment we quickly see what women have to face on an everyday basis.

Hushed

This piece explores angular movements and human interactions while telling the important idea of standing up for what you believe in, even the powers that be try to silence you. This piece was originally created in reaction to the first two american citizens killed by drone bombs. It also addresses the idea that we are so connected by technology that we are unable to see what’s right in front of us.

The Park

This piece is about the joy of finding love and the pain of losing that love from something uncontrollable and unforeseeable. In this piece we see the cute yet awkward moments that many new couples experience and how this builds into something beautiful yes eventually painful.

Urban Tumbleweed

With the help of six fans and 1,840 plastic bags “Urban Tumbleweed” is performed. Set to the majestic music by Porter Robinson, the performers twirl and move with the plastic as the bags rise and fall to eventually come to a pile.

One Bar Closer

This piece is about how we think we are so connected by technology yet we could not be more disconnected. This piece plays on many situations we see in daily life where we are surrounded by people yet we are alone.  This piece uses the spoken word by Prince Ea.

War on the Mind

A spoken word piece that involves breathing yet no music. This piece brings to light many issues that we face in this country that are not often acknowledged. This piece is emotional, engaging, and is meant to effect the audience in an inspiring way.

Thermisol

This piece boarders the human psychosis, and pushes new characters the resemble human characteristics. “Thermisol” challenges the audience to truly take charge of their health and wellbeing. The piece focuses on the idea of trusting a doctor just because he is in a position of authority.

 Marlene

“Marlene” is a piece about the wage gap between women and men. It also focuses on the idea that money can not buy you happiness. This is a duo that fuses both hip hop and ballet together to find different accents in the music, and includes facial expressions.

Black Damp

“Black Damp” was created to be part of Dark Fest and uses only battery powered lights, to light the stage. This piece is about a cave mining collapse. Even though this piece is in the dark facial expressions and human interactions are a large part of this piece.

Bamboozled

This piece plays with the extravagant imagination of a video game fused with contemporary dance. We explore the issues of student debt and the anxiety involved with the fear of not being able to pay them off.

Pandemic

Pandemic combines storytelling and the playful movements of a child to tell the story of being trapped and feeling alone in an unfamiliar world.
