This application is designed for teens interested in participating as curators in the Teens Curate Teens program. If you are not interested in being one of the curators organizing the exhibition but would like your work to be featured in the exhibition then please visit https://teens.artsconnection.org/tct for directions on submitting artwork. You DO NOT need to complete this application in order to submit your artwork to the Teens Curate Teens program.
Teens Curate Teens (TCT) brings together high school artists and curators to produce an art exhibition each spring. Teen Curators develop an exhibition of artwork around a specific theme that allows teen artists to express themselves, tell stories, ask questions and start conversations between artworks, artists and gallery visitors. Through teamwork, they gain valuable communication and organization skills, knowledge of art and culture, and share their voice with the NYC arts scene.
Join a team of teen curators to organize an exhibition of artworks created by teens that focuses on the idea of borders. Borders can describe or relate to many things including geography, politics, culture, and art making. And they may be interpreted in a variety of ways–as a way to connect people or to separate them, as an outline, a delineation, a marker of what belongs and what doesn't.
