TEENS CURATE TEENS (TCT)
CURATORS
Create an exhibition by teens, for teens. TCT is your chance to learn first-hand about the curatorial process, organize a public art exhibition, and make your voice heard. As a TCT curator, you’ll learn the ins & outs of curating, and produce a public art exhibition based on a theme voted on by teens. This year’s theme is Fantasy & Fairy Tales!
Over 17 sessions, TCT curators will visit galleries, and work together to put out an open call for teen artists, select artwork, design and install your exhibition, and host an opening reception where you’ll unveil it for all to see!
Program runs: October 13, 2026 – February 2, 2027
- Weekly meetings: Tuesdays: 4:30–6:30 PM
- *No class on December 29 (Winter Recess)
- Location: ArtsConnection office, midtown Manhattan
- Special dates:
- Monday, September 28th between 3pm-7pm: there will be a brief virtual interview (10-15 min each) for select applicants
- Saturday, January 30th: Exhibition Opening Reception (late morning / early afternoon; time & location TBD)

Requirements:
- You do not need to be an artist or have exhibition experience to apply! While some professional curators are also artists, others are writers, designers, researchers, historians, community members, etc.
- Participants must commit to attend weekly sessions. More than 2 absences may result in a reduction to the $100 stipend awarded at the end of the program
- TCT Curators can expect to work independently for 0.5-2 hours each week in addition to the workshops
