10-things-i-hateWe went to the September Pizza and a Movie Night where the theme was “When I was a teen…” We asked our ArtsConnection team what their favorite movies were as teens and they didn’t hold back!

Never been to Pizza and a Movie? Well, this is how it works. Each month there’s one theme and three films. We eat pizza then we vote on the movie…mob rule style! This month we watched 10 Things I hate About You (directed by Gil Junger).

We asked four teens to give you their reviews on the film. Check out what Linda (The Rave Reviewer), Daniel, Caitlin, and Andrew (The Newbies) have to say about 10 Things I hate About You.

How would you sum up the movie in one sentence?

Linda: 1. Joseph Gordon Levitt is a mini Heath Ledger. 2. Impractical- you can’t learn French in a few days.

Daniel: A great movie for teens from any generation-would watch again.

Caitlin: More than I thought it would be…

Andrew: Best High school cliché.

Who would you recommend this movie to?

Linda: Everyone!

Daniel: Any teens!

Caitlin: Many people!

Andrew: Everybody!

We asked the teens to do a one-word association with the film. Here are some of the most popular and surprising responses…

Hysterical, typical, “big belly”(see pic^), feminism, success, crop-tops, cheesy (in a good way)

On a scale of 1 to 10 (1= “Hated it”, 10= “My New Favorite”), how would you rate this movie?

Linda: 9 *!

Daniel: 7

Caitlin: 6 🙂

Andrew: 8 too good!

Final Rating: 7.5 …but let’s call it an even 8
