Wow, what an incredible life-changing hour and 45 minutes! The Fallen was an amazing play written by Yasmine Beverly Rana and directed By Terry Schreiber. Simple words cannot explain the experience. The speechless jam packed and content-rich performance was presented in the T.Schreiber Studio Theatre. From the moment the audience is all set and ready to go, the lights go off and the room immediately becomes absent of light. There are chains and shuffling, movement in rush, a loud speaker stating the date, time, and place. The lights come on and the horrifying story of women children and even military men begins.

In and throughout this performance, we are transported and transcended into different places, souls and times in history where we can now see, feel and re-live what these women, men and children were going through in a space so vivid, raw and unfiltered that even the least emotional human would find themselves in the shoes of one if not all of these amazing actors. The actors not only played their roles incredibly but they went to places within themselves to find these characters and live them truthfully from beginning to end. Luckily, I had the chance, as well as two other teens, to have an open conversation with the the cast and all of the amazing people on set who worked together and created this magnificent play. George Mouriadis was a perfect example of one of the wonderful actors who reached deep down inside and found someone who he could feel for and embraced the situation of each one of his fellow peers’ characters to give us and outstanding performance in which we could now realize that this special event was not just about creating a play of entertainment. It was about much more than that. This night went beyond our borders of limitation, took us by the hand and made us go to places which some of us may have never imagined. That night we realized what true theater is all about. Thank you Yasmine Beverly Rana, Terry Schreiber, everyone who was part of the cast and the entire T.Schreiber Studio for making such an evening possible.
