Christina Grimmie was born on March 12, 1994 and passed away on June 10, 2016 when she was just 22 because of gunshot wounds, following her concert performance with Before You Exit at Orlando, Florida. Grimmie is known as a YouTuber who was also featured on season 6 of The Voice. She was on Team Adam and finished in third place. She was managed by Selena Gomez’s stepfather Brian since she was 14, and so she was close with Selena throughout the years. Grimmie had the opportunity to join Gomez’s “We Own The Night” tour in 2011 when she was just 17. She released her own original songs as well as covers on her Youtube channel. One of her original songs is “Tell My Mama,” which was released two years ago. Her last cover before her passing was with Before You Exit, which was also performed on the tour; they performed “Let It Go” by James Bay.

Grimmie’s most viewed cover was “Just a Dream” by Nelly with over 120 million views and counting with Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider . She covered this song when she was just 16 years old (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2RA0vsZXf8).

Throughout all her life, Grimmie was kind to others and always did good things. As Selena Gomez mentioned, just moments before dedicating the song “Transfiguration” in honor of Grimmie, “she had faith”. Charlie Puth , Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, and others also paid their respects to Grimmie at their concerts.

She was very talented and her participation in The Voice in 2014 gave her the national and worldwide recognition that she deserved. After The Voice, she was finally signed to a major record label, Island Records. But unfortunately this didn’t last long as the record label dropped her.
