Our sixth annual PoetryFest celebrates Ireland and America’s great literary connection by showcasing an unparalleled array of much-published and award-winning poets. The only New York festival of its kind, PoetryFest immerses participants in an intimate and creative atmosphere filled with readings, storytelling, book signings, conversations, and more.

ON NOVEMBER 9TH FEATURED POETS INCLUDE:

*1:30 pm- Dave Lordan and Matthea Harvey 

Dave Lordan, writer, editor, and teacher based in Dublin and the first person to win all three of Ireland’s national prizes for young poets – the Patrick Kavanagh Award, Rupert and Eithne Strong Award, and the Ireland Chair of Poetry Bursary Award.

Matthea Harvey, author of three poetry collections, National Book Critics Circle Award finalist and professor of creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College in New York.

*3:00 pm- Peter Fallon in conversation with Belinda McKeon

*5:00 pm-Peter Fallon and Gerald Stern 

Peter Fallon, O’Shaughnessy Poetry Award winner, translator, editor and founder of the Gallery Press. He lives in Co. Meath.

Gerald Stern, author of twenty collections of poetry, most recently In Beauty Bright (2012). Born in New Jersey in 1929, he is a former Poet Laureate of that state and his work has received the National Book Award, the Wallace Stevens Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship, among many other honors.
