What’s the best thing about FringeNYC?

These are shows that everyone involved genuinely wants to do, no question.  I would say every cast is thinking, “NYC can’t go on without seeing this one!”  Passion abounds at this festival.

What’s the #1 reason people should come see your show?

You’ll laugh and you’ll cry.  Ha! It’s true though, by coming to see Broken Box you’re actually seeing a bunch of short pieces; there’s something in it for everyone.  This is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and it will change the way you think about storytelling.  (Plus you get to tell your friends you saw a cool mime show.  It’s great for your rep’.)

Do you have any opening-night rituals?

Make-up! Once it’s on, the silence begins!

What are the craziest performance conditions you’ve had to work under?

Once I mimed at a New Years Eve party in Boston…. Let’s just say I’m glad to be back making art, not pretending to put drunk men in boxes.

How did you get involved with the arts?

When I was 5 years old I saw “Crazy for You” on Broadway, and after it ended I kept saying “Again! Again!” so it could rewind like my videos.  Ironically, it’s that live, ephemeral quality of theater that makes me want to be an actor.
