While stuck in Virginia for the duration of a week, I slowly began to go insane. Instead of ending up within the confines of a mental institution, I visited the Mariners Museum. This museum caters to the life of Virginians and stores over 60,000 photos and documents that showcase this state’s progression from the early 1700s and on.

The Mariners Museum is home to over 32,000 artifacts belonging to Native Americans who lived in Virginia. It is also the largest running maritime museum in North America. In its efforts to work closer to the people of Williamsburg, it showcases the art work of students from different schools within the state.

The Mariners Museum was definitely worth a visit; and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent way to pass time while staying in Williamsburg, Virginia.
