Here’s what the teen audience had to say…

FINAL RATING: 6 out of 8 slices

Every PaaM night, we ask our teens to give us their honest reviews of the winning movie. We then select voices that capture the range of opinions and critiques. Read what Jefferey, Rosaly, Elam, and Aminah had to say about the Sundance darling.

Choose three words to describe the movie.

Jefferey: Interesting, bold, enlightening

Rosaly: Goal-driven, inspirational, educational

Elam: Flamboyant, informative, wholesome

Aminah: Captivating, beautiful, different

What was your favorite scene? Bonus: Why? **SPOILER ALERT!**

Jefferey: My favorite scene is when someone talks about the way his family resented him for being gay because it provokes thought on how different families feel if they will always (or never) support you.

Rosaly: When they were walking down the stage, showing off their creations. I loved it because it showed their confidence, which I adore.

Elam: Favorite scene was the one that showcased voguing.

Aminah: When they all walk the runway. I got to watch people show their differences and express themselves.

Would you recommend this to a friend? Why or why not?

Jefferey: I would recommend this to someone who feels lost and scared for being different because this film brings light to a generation of misfits that strive for greatness.

Rosaly: Yes because is is a very inspirational movie, especially to those who love history and knowing about life back then.

Elam: Not really, this isn’t really the type of movie people WANT to watch and it can probably be offensive to some pope due to its dialogue.

Aminah: Yes, because I want them to enjoy it like I did.
