Toronto Film Festival

We went to the February Pizza and a Movie Night where the theme was Great Minds. We voted on a menu of movies that put exceptional minds under the lens.

Never been to Pizza and a Movie? Well, this is how it works. Each month there’s one theme and three films. We eat pizza then we vote on the movie…mob rule style! This month we watched Nightcrawler (directed by Dan Gilroy).

We asked three teens to give you their reviews of the film. Check out what Keiny (The TRaC Star), Allyson (The New PaaM Frequenter), and Santino (The Resident Movie Buff) have to say about Nightcrawler.

How would you sum up the movie in one sentence?

Keiny: An acceptable way to get away with murder and a perfect way to make a significant amount of money.
Allyson: The creepiest most unfortunate movie ever.
Santino: A gritty dark ride through the lens

Who would you recommend this movie to?

Keiny: [People] who love suspense and have a taste for transparency.
Allyson: To sociopaths and Sherlock Holmes and my mom.
Santino: People who are interested in thrillers, a majority of friends and family.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (1= “Hated it”, 10= “My New Favorite”), how would you rate this movie?

Keiny: 8
Allyson: 3
Santino: 7

Final Rating:  6 slices
