FINAL RATING: PERFECT SCORE – 8/8!

Here’s what the teen audience had to say…

Every PaaM night, we ask our teens to give us their honest reviews of the winning movie. We then select voices that capture the range of opinions and critiques. Read what Irene (PaaM Newbie), Gabrielle and Abigail (Classmates that PaaM Together), and Albierry (TRaC Star) thought about this twisted horror satire.

Choose three words to describe the movie.

Irene: Lovingly twisted, heart-pounding.
Gabrielle: Interesting, insidious, unpredictable.
Abigail: Surprising, suspenseful, funny.
Albierry: Amazing, awesome, spectacular.

What was your favorite scene? Bonus: Why? **SPOILER ALERT!**

Irene: I love the symbolism of the last scene, Chris’ mom died alone and cold on the street with nobody around. Rose lying on the road with a bloody wound alone in the suburbs is a perfect twisted reflection of his mom. Both were women Chris cherished, but unlike the last time, Chris didn’t sit around watching TV. He did something, whether it was for better or worse, Chris took action, and Rose staring after Chris suggest she realizes this too.
Gabrielle: My favorite scene is when the mother hypnotizes Chris because it depicts how powerful words and the mind are.
Abigail: My favorite scene is when Chris finds Rose’s photos of her past relationships! Because this scene shows that Rose was in on it and that Chris probably wouldn’t get out. Suspenseful!
Albierry: Every moment in the sunken room. It felt familiar.

Would you recommend this to a friend? Why or why not?

Irene: I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It has everything – romance, violence, suspense, and just the right amount of humor. I want to watch it again, but this time with a friend.
Gabrielle: Yes, because it brings about conversation around issues like interracial dating, white privilege and mental slavery.
Abigail: Yes, this movie was so good and had me on the edge. It is so complex and interesting, I didn’t think it would be this good. So much tension!
Albierry: Due to the hidden messages, I definitely would.
